SketchUp has shipped a native Apple Silicon build since version 2022.0, released in early 2022, so if you are still running an older Intel-only version under Rosetta you will benefit from a significant performance and battery-life improvement by updating. The current supported versions are 2024, 2025 and 2026 — all ship natively on Apple Silicon. To update, open SketchUp and go to Help → Check for Updates, or visit the SketchUp website to download the latest installer, which will automatically serve the native build on M-series Macs. Your projects, plugins and preferences will carry over without manual migration. Note that SketchUp 2023 and older versions are no longer supported by Trimble, so updating to 2024 or later is necessary both for Apple Silicon compatibility and to remain on a supported release.
