RustDesk
RustDesk is a free, open-source remote desktop application that allows you to control computers from anywhere over the internet. Written in the Rust programming language, it functions similarly to TeamViewer or Chrome Remote Desktop, enabling users to access their work computers from home, provide technical support to others, or manage multiple systems remotely. The software works out of the box without complex configuration and offers the option to use the developer's relay servers or set up your own self-hosted infrastructure for enhanced privacy. RustDesk is popular among IT professionals, remote workers, and privacy-conscious users who want full control over their remote access solution.
Suggested Replacements
1 suggestionGood news! RustDesk already has native Apple Silicon support. The current version 1.4.6 is available as a native ARM64 build, which is significantly newer than the Intel-only version 1.2.3 you currently have. You can download the latest native version directly from their GitHub releases page or install it via Homebrew with 'brew install --cask rustdesk'. The update process should be straightforward, though you may need to re-grant system permissions (Screen Recording, Accessibility) after installing the new version.
