If you rely on JEDict's advanced features like character lookup and user-dictionary compilation, consider also exploring the iOS app "Japanese" (by CodeFromTokyo), which has been praised for a modern interface, though you would be limited to iOS devices. Given the long gap since the last major update and the niche market, there is a meaningful risk that JEDict may not ship a native build before Rosetta 2 is retired.
