Encrypto is a free file encryption utility from MacPaw that lets you secure any file or folder with AES-256 encryption before sending it to others. You simply drag and drop a file into Encrypto, set a password, and the app creates an encrypted package that can be safely shared via email, cloud storage, or any other transfer method. The encrypted file can be decrypted by anyone with the password, making it useful for protecting sensitive documents, financial records, or personal files when sharing with friends or colleagues. Encrypto is available for both macOS and Windows, ensuring cross-platform compatibility.

1 suggestionA native Apple Silicon (Universal Binary) build of Encrypto has been confirmed running on real Macs in the Rosetta Check community. If your copy is currently running under Rosetta, update to the latest version from MacPaw to get the native Universal Binary build, which will use less CPU and battery during encryption and decryption operations. You can update through the Mac App Store (where Encrypto is available free) or download the latest build directly from MacPaw's website. Your existing settings and preferences will carry over automatically.
