Guitar Rig 4
Guitar Rig is a professional guitar amp and effects modeling plugin developed by Native Instruments. It allows guitarists and producers to simulate a wide range of classic and modern amplifiers, cabinets, and stompbox effects within a digital audio workstation or standalone environment. The software is widely used in recording studios and for live performance to shape electric guitar tone with studio-quality effects and amp simulations. Guitar Rig 4 is an older version from the mid-2000s that many musicians still rely on for its particular sound character and workflow.

1 suggestionGuitar Rig 4 is no longer actively maintained by Native Instruments and has not received a native Apple Silicon version. The company has moved forward with Guitar Rig 7 and later versions, which are the current focus for development and support. Since Guitar Rig 4 is Intel-only and will not run natively on Apple Silicon Macs, you should upgrade to the latest version of Guitar Rig (currently version 7 or later) from Native Instruments. These newer versions include native Apple Silicon support and Universal Binary builds. If you wish to stay with Guitar Rig but on Apple Silicon, upgrading to Guitar Rig 7 or the current version is your best option. Check Native Instruments' website for upgrade pricing and licensing terms, as you may qualify for a crossgrade from your older version.
