HDR Efex Pro
HDR Efex Pro is a specialized photo editing plugin developed by Nik Software (later acquired by Google) for creating high dynamic range (HDR) images. It was part of the Nik Collection suite of professional photography plugins that worked with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. The software allowed photographers to combine multiple exposures of the same scene into a single image with enhanced detail in both highlights and shadows, along with tone mapping controls for artistic HDR effects. It was popular among landscape and architectural photographers for creating dramatic, high-contrast images with extended dynamic range.

For HDR photography on Apple Silicon Macs, I recommend Aurora HDR by Skylum (now called Luminar Neo with HDR Merge feature), which offers similar HDR processing capabilities with native Apple Silicon support. Alternatively, Adobe Lightroom's built-in HDR merge feature provides excellent results and runs natively on Apple Silicon. Both options offer modern HDR processing with better performance than the legacy Nik plugin.
