Calcbot

Calcbot was discontinued by its developer and is no longer actively maintained. Roaring Apps, a macOS compatibility tracker, lists the app as end-of-life with no ongoing support. However, the search results indicate that Calcbot has a Universal Binary build and runs natively on Apple Silicon Macs, so if you are currently running it on an M-series Mac you should not experience any immediate problems. That said, because development has ended, you will receive no further updates, security patches or compatibility improvements as macOS evolves. When Apple removes Rosetta 2 in macOS 28 (September 2028), this will not affect Calcbot itself — the native build will continue to work — but the lack of active maintenance means compatibility with future macOS releases is uncertain. If Calcbot is central to your workflow, consider transitioning to an actively maintained calculator app such as Soulver (which offers powerful calculation with narrative syntax), Spotlight's built-in calculator, or one of the freely available scientific calculator apps on the Mac App Store. If you are still running an older Intel-only version of Calcbot, updating to the latest version will give you the native build.
