About This App

SkyDrive was Microsoft's cloud file storage and synchronisation service, predecessor to OneDrive. The Mac desktop app created a local SkyDrive folder that automatically kept files in sync across computers and the SkyDrive web service, similar to Dropbox or iCloud Drive. It was designed for users who wanted cloud-based file storage integrated with Microsoft's online ecosystem. The app has been discontinued by Microsoft and is no longer supported.

SkyDrive for Mac was discontinued by Microsoft years ago and the app is no longer supported or maintained. There is no native Apple Silicon build. The Intel-only build continues to run under Rosetta 2 today, but Apple is removing Rosetta entirely in macOS 28 (September 2028), so this app will stop launching on that release. Microsoft migrated all SkyDrive users to OneDrive, which is the actively maintained successor and ships as a native Apple Silicon application. If you are still using SkyDrive, migrate your files to OneDrive through your Microsoft account — OneDrive offers the same folder synchronisation, cloud storage and cross-platform integration with a modern native Mac build. OneDrive is free for personal use with a Microsoft account and is available from Microsoft's website or the Mac App Store.
