About This App

MailTrackerBlocker is a Mail extension for Apple Mail that detects and blocks email tracking pixels embedded in HTML messages. Email marketers and other senders commonly use invisible 1x1 pixel images to track when, where, and how often recipients open messages. MailTrackerBlocker identifies these trackers and prevents them from loading, protecting user privacy while allowing normal email content to display. It complements Mail's built-in Mail Privacy Protection with visual alerts highlighting tracked messages. The extension requires macOS 13 or newer and is available on the Mac App Store. A native Apple Silicon build has been confirmed running on Macs in the Rosetta Check community.

Update MailTrackerBlocker to the native build through the Mac App Store. Open the App Store, search for MailTrackerBlocker, and click Update if an update is available — the store automatically serves the native Universal Binary to M-series Macs, so no special steps are needed. If you prefer to use the command-line installer, MailTrackerBlocker is also available via Homebrew; running brew upgrade mailtrackerblocker will pull the native build. After updating, open Mail Preferences (Mail → Preferences, or press Command-comma), navigate to the General tab, click Manage Extensions, and ensure MailTrackerBlocker is enabled. The extension will begin flagging tracked emails immediately; no additional configuration is required.
