Jack-O-Lantern

Jack-O-Lantern is a screen saver component, not a standalone app, so it cannot be updated separately through the App Store or a generic vendor download. The last known release was version 1.2 in 2006, and there is no evidence of any updates from Killer Robots since then. Screen savers are installed into macOS's system screen saver folder and are selected through System Settings → Display → Lock Screen → Screen Saver, but updating a screen saver component requires reinstalling it from the vendor. Since the vendor appears to have abandoned development nearly two decades ago, there is no native Apple Silicon build, and this screen saver will stop working entirely when Apple removes Rosetta 2 in macOS 28 (September 2028). If you rely on Jack-O-Lantern, check the Killer Robots website to see if a native build has been released; if not, you may want to explore other third-party screen savers or macOS's built-in options as an alternative before the deadline.
