The AutoUpdate Helper Tool is not a standalone application — it is a privileged system component that ships as part of Microsoft AutoUpdate, which is installed alongside Microsoft Office on macOS. There is nothing to update separately. To ensure the helper tool receives any necessary updates, you should update Microsoft Office itself through Microsoft's official channels. If you have Microsoft 365 or Office installed, open any Office app (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), go to the Help menu, click Check for Updates, and let Microsoft AutoUpdate pull the latest version. This will update both the main Office applications and all accompanying components including the helper tool.
