DisplayCAL is a free, open-source display calibration and profiling tool for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It works with a wide range of colorimeters and spectrophotometers (including X-Rite i1Display, Spyder, and others via ArgyllCMS integration) to measure and characterize your monitor's colour accuracy, then generate an ICC profile that your operating system uses to correct display output. It is used by photographers, videographers, designers, and anyone else who needs accurate color representation on screen. The application provides both a graphical interface and command-line tools for advanced workflows.
Suggested Replacements
1 suggestionA native Apple Silicon build of DisplayCAL has been confirmed running on real Macs in the Rosetta Check community. Anyone still on an older Intel-only build under Rosetta should update to the latest version from displaycal.org, which now includes native Apple Silicon M1–M4 support. The native build will use less CPU and system resources during calibration and measurement. Simply download the latest DMG installer for macOS and follow the standard installation process; your existing calibration profiles and instrument configurations will carry over without issue.
