Commandline is Maxon's command-line rendering tool for Cinema 4D, used by 3D artists, animators, and visual effects professionals to render 3D scenes from the command line without opening the Cinema 4D GUI. Built exclusively for macOS, it adheres to Apple's security and privacy standards while enhancing native command-line workflows. The app integrates with popular shells like zsh and bash, and works in conjunction with Maxon user accounts and license servers for professional production rendering workflows. It is essential for automated batch rendering, render farm management, and headless server-based production pipelines.

Version 2023.1 (and later) runs natively on Apple Silicon with full Universal Binary support. You should update to the latest version immediately—simply download it from Maxon's official website or check the App Store, and your Intel app will be replaced with the native version. No Rosetta 2 emulation will be needed. Be sure to verify your license key is properly configured when you upgrade, as the Maxon user account system should carry over automatically.
