MenuBar

MenuBar is a framework component, not a standalone application, so it cannot be updated directly from the App Store or a generic vendor download. The framework is bundled as part of a host application that uses it — typically a menu-bar browser or utility app. To update MenuBar and ensure native Apple Silicon support, you must update the parent application that includes this framework. Identify which menu-bar app on your Mac uses MenuBar (most commonly the MenubarX menu-bar browser), then update that host application through its own update mechanism: either the app's built-in update checker, the vendor's installer, or the distribution channel where you originally obtained it (direct vendor site, Setapp, Mac App Store, or similar). If you are unsure which app is using this framework, open the parent application and check Help or About to see the version and vendor details, then visit the vendor's website for the latest native Apple Silicon build. As of May 2026, you have over two years before Apple removes Rosetta 2 in macOS 28 (September 2028), so updates released by active vendors will likely include native builds well before that deadline.
