LinkScanner Settings

LinkScanner Settings is not a standalone application but a system extension (PreferencePane) bundled as part of AVG's antivirus products. It cannot be updated separately. To ensure you have the native Apple Silicon version, update the parent AVG antivirus product itself — either AVG Internet Security or AVG Antivirus, depending on which suite you installed. Reinstall or update AVG through its own installer or updater (typically found on the AVG website or via the AVG menu-bar icon), not through the App Store. Once the parent AVG product is updated to a native Apple Silicon build, the LinkScanner Settings PreferencePane will automatically be updated as well. If you are currently running an Intel-only build of AVG and your Mac has Apple Silicon, updating to the latest version will give you better performance and battery life. Check the AVG website or contact AVG support to confirm that the latest version of your AVG suite supports native Apple Silicon, as this determines whether the embedded LinkScanner Settings component will continue to work after Apple removes Rosetta 2 in macOS 28 (September 2028).
