The search results show that Lens Studio continues to receive updates and Snap remains actively developing the product — the most recent stable release is version 5.15.1 (October 2025), which includes numerous new features, AI tools, and bug fixes. However, all current documented releases explicitly note that the macOS builds remain Intel-only and require Rosetta 2 emulation on Apple Silicon Macs. The search results contain no evidence of a native arm64 build being shipped by default, and a December 2023 release note explicitly states "Compatible with Apple-silicon based Macs using Rosetta" — indicating no native build was planned at that time. Given that we are in May 2026 and Snap has continued releasing updates without shipping a native build, it appears Snap has not prioritised native Apple Silicon support despite years of community requests (dating back to 2021). Watch for an announcement from Snap about native Apple Silicon support, but given the current trajectory you should plan on Lens Studio becoming unavailable when Apple removes Rosetta 2 in macOS 28 (September 2028). As a contingency, familiarise yourself with alternative AR creation tools such as Reality Composer (from Apple, native Apple Silicon), 8th Wall (web-based), or Meta Spark Studio — though these have different feature sets and workflows than Lens Studio.
