Application Enhancer

Application Enhancer is a system preference pane developed by Unsanity that has been discontinued and is no longer supported by the vendor. Because it is a component of macOS System Settings rather than a standalone app, there is no separate download or update channel — it would be updated only by reinstalling the parent product (in this case, the preference pane bundle itself). However, since the developer has ended support for this product, no native Apple Silicon version has been released and none is forthcoming. The Intel-only version currently runs under Rosetta 2 on Apple Silicon Macs, but that compatibility layer will be removed entirely when Apple ships macOS 28 in September 2028. At that point, the preference pane will no longer load. If you rely on the specific customisations Application Enhancer provides, research whether a modern macOS system preference or third-party utility offers equivalent functionality — the exact features you use (system startup control, menu-bar customisation, Finder enhancements, or others) will help you identify a suitable replacement. System Preferences itself has expanded significantly since Application Enhancer was active, so some of its original functions may now be built into modern macOS.
