This is an FxPlug video effect plugin for Final Cut Pro, not a standalone application. It is installed and updated through Red Giant's software ecosystem. To update Universe Blur Masked Blur to a native Apple Silicon build, download and install the latest version of Red Giant Toolbox (which bundles Universe and other Red Giant FxPlug effects) from Red Giant's website using their installer, or update through Final Cut Pro's built-in Effects Browser if a native build has been made available there. If you are running a recent version of Final Cut Pro on an M-series Mac, ensure your Red Giant plugins are up to date by visiting Red Giant's download page and running their installer — this will serve the native Apple Silicon version of the plugin suite. Check Red Giant's release notes to confirm that Universe effects now ship natively; if they do not yet have a native build, the Intel version will continue to run under Rosetta 2 until September 2028, when Apple removes Rosetta from macOS 28 and the Intel-only plugin will stop working.
