Cypher2

Cypher2 is available as an AAX plugin for Pro Tools, and the AAX version is Intel-only — it does not ship as a Universal Binary, so it requires Rosetta 2 to run on Apple Silicon Macs. Fxpansion has confirmed a native Apple Silicon build is not planned for the AAX format. To use Cypher2 in Pro Tools on an Apple Silicon Mac, ensure Pro Tools is running under Rosetta 2 by selecting the Pro Tools application in Applications, right-clicking Get Info, and ticking "Open using Rosetta", then restarting Pro Tools. Alternatively, Fxpansion does ship Cypher2 as a Universal Binary in AU format on Apple Silicon Macs if your workflow supports AU instead of AAX. However, be aware that the native AU version currently has a known oscillator bug, so Fxpansion recommends running the Intel version under Rosetta for now. Check Fxpansion's support site for updates on when the oscillator issue is resolved. As Apple removes Rosetta 2 entirely in macOS 28 (September 2028), you will need either a native AAX version from Fxpansion, a native AU alternative, or a switch to a different synthesizer plugin that ships with native Apple Silicon support before that deadline.
