FontExplorer X has been discontinued and is no longer supported by Linotype. The security helper component bundled within it cannot be updated separately — it is part of the main FontExplorer X application itself. Since FontExplorer X is no longer maintained, there is no native Apple Silicon build available, and the Intel-only version will stop working entirely when Apple removes Rosetta 2 in macOS 28 (late 2027). If you are still relying on FontExplorer X for font management, you should plan to migrate to an actively maintained alternative such as Font File Browser, Soulver (for quick font lookups), or consider using macOS's built-in Font Book app which covers basic font activation and organization needs. Monotype, the parent company of Linotype, has shifted users of FontExplorer X to their MonotypeFonts.com subscription service, which offers modern font management and a comprehensive library of over 150,000 fonts.
