This is a launchDaemon component bundled with Lexar's Image Rescue (IR) software suite. Image Rescue is a data recovery utility designed to recover deleted or lost photos, videos and other files from memory cards, SSDs, external drives and other storage devices. The daemon provides background services and system integration for the Image Rescue application. Image Rescue is primarily used by photographers, videographers and content creators who need to recover accidentally deleted media files.</description> <parameter name="recommendation">This is a helper component of Lexar Image Rescue, not a standalone application. The daemon itself cannot be updated separately — it is bundled with and updated only when you update the parent Image Rescue application. To get a native Apple Silicon build of Image Rescue (which will include this launchDaemon in its native form), download and install the latest version of Lexar Image Rescue directly from Lexar's website or support portal. If you are running an older Intel build of Image Rescue under Rosetta 2, reinstalling the current version from Lexar will fetch the native build if one is available. However, we found no information confirming that Lexar has released a native Apple Silicon version of Image Rescue. If the latest Lexar installer still delivers an Intel-only build, you will need to contact Lexar directly to ask about a native version roadmap, as the app will stop launching entirely when Apple removes Rosetta 2 in macOS 28 (September 2028). Check Lexar's support website or contact their support team to confirm native Apple Silicon support is available before that deadline.
