SecuExtender Helper is not a standalone application but rather a system component bundled within the Zyxel SecuExtender VPN Client. You cannot update or install the helper independently — it is installed and updated only through the parent SecuExtender application itself. According to Zyxel's recent community posts from June 2025, a native Apple Silicon build of SecuExtender IPSec VPN Client does exist and has been released, confirming that Apple Silicon support is now available. If you are running an older Intel-only version (such as v3.2.4.19), you should download and install the latest version of SecuExtender directly from Zyxel's website (https://www.zyxel.com/SecuExtenderDownload), which will include the native Apple Silicon build of the helper component. Uninstall your existing SecuExtender client completely first, then install the latest version using the official installer. If you encounter helper installation issues, Zyxel support recommends temporarily disabling security software (antivirus, firewalls, endpoint detection tools) during installation, ensuring your system date and time are correct, and consulting the macOS Console logs if problems persist. The SSL VPN variant of SecuExtender reached end of life in 2023 and is no longer supported; if you are using that older product, migrate to the current IPSec/SSL VPN Client instead.
