Apogee FX Rack

Apogee FX Rack is an audio plugin (Audio Unit / AU component) that runs inside your DAW, not a standalone application. While the FX Rack plugins themselves are available in native formats for macOS, Apogee has explicitly stated that the FX Rack plugin used specifically with Element and Ensemble Thunderbolt hardware interfaces will not be updated to Apple Silicon native. If you are using FX Rack primarily as a standalone plugin in your DAW without Apogee hardware, check Apogee's website for the current version — the individual effect plugins (Pultec EQP-1A, ModEQ 6, ModComp, Opto-3A, MEQ-5) are shipping in native formats. However, if your FX Rack is tied to Apogee hardware interface control, the plugin will not receive a native build. In that case, the plugin will continue to run under Rosetta 2 in the short term, but Apple is removing Rosetta 2 in macOS 28 (late 2027), at which point the hardware-dependent FX Rack plugin will stop working. You should contact Apogee Digital directly to clarify whether a native Apple Silicon build is planned for the hardware-linked version, or consider migrating to the individual Apogee effect plugins (which are native) or third-party alternatives if Apogee's native roadmap does not include your use case.
