OptoRed

OptoRed is an Audio Units plugin for Pro Tools and therefore cannot be updated separately from its host application. To get the native Apple Silicon build of OptoRed, you must first ensure Pro Tools itself is running a native build. Pro Tools added full native Apple Silicon support in version 2023.6 (released in 2023); if you are running an older version, update Pro Tools through the Avid Application Manager (the main update channel for Pro Tools) to the latest version available for your system. Once Pro Tools is on a current native build, reinstall or update OptoRed through Tone Empire's installer or website — the plugin will then load as a native Audio Unit within Pro Tools. If you are already on a recent Pro Tools build and OptoRed has not updated automatically, visit Tone Empire's website to download the latest version of the plugin and run their installer. Since a native Apple Silicon build of OptoRed has already been confirmed in the community, the update path is straightforward — you should see immediate performance and stability benefits once both Pro Tools and the plugin are native.
