MacScanDaemon is not a standalone application — it is a background system component (launchDaemon) that is bundled with and updated exclusively through MacScan, Securemac's main security application. There is no separate update channel or installer for this daemon; it is part of MacScan's installation package. To ensure MacScanDaemon receives any native Apple Silicon build updates, you must update the parent MacScan application itself through Securemac's official download page or within MacScan's built-in update mechanism. Check MacScan for available updates by opening the app and looking for a Check for Updates or Settings menu option, or visit securemac.com/download to verify you have the latest version of MacScan. As of May 2026, we could not confirm from available sources whether MacScan or its bundled daemon currently ship a native Apple Silicon build; if you find MacScanDaemon is still running under Rosetta on an M-series Mac, check Securemac's site or contact their support to ask about native build availability. Keeping MacScan itself updated is the only way to ensure this daemon stays current with any native releases before Apple removes Rosetta 2 in macOS 28 (September 2028).
