PaeFireStudio is a system helper component bundled within PreSonus's FireStudio driver package, not a standalone app — it cannot be updated or installed separately. To update it to a native Apple Silicon build (if one exists), you must reinstall or update the entire PreSonus Universal Control driver suite from PreSonus. Visit support.presonus.com, search for "FireStudio drivers" or "Universal Control", download the latest installer for your FireStudio interface model, and run it. This will replace both the main driver and all helper components, including PaeFireStudio. If PreSonus has not yet shipped a native Apple Silicon version of their FireStudio drivers, contact PreSonus support directly to ask about native builds and an expected timeline — the September 2028 macOS 28 deadline (when Rosetta 2 is removed) is a hard cutoff for Intel-only drivers. Until then, the daemon continues to work under Rosetta 2, but you will want to migrate to a native solution well before that release.
