WaveShell1-AAX is a component of the Waves plugin ecosystem, not a standalone app, so it is updated by reinstalling or updating Waves plugins through Waves Central (the Waves vendor installer). To get a native Apple Silicon build: (1) ensure Pro Tools itself is on version 2023.6 or later, which is required for native AAX plugins to work on Apple Silicon Macs; (2) open Waves Central and check for plugin updates — Waves has shipped native Apple Silicon builds of its plugin suite since V13 (released in 2022), and the native versions will be offered to you automatically if your Pro Tools is on a compatible native build. Simply installing the latest Waves plugins through Waves Central will replace the Intel AAX wrapper with its native equivalent. If you do not yet have Waves Central installed, download it from waves.com to manage all your Waves plugins in one place. There is no separate WaveShell1-AAX download — the wrapper is always bundled with your Waves plugin installation.
