MetaTrader 5 is actively maintained by MetaQuotes and runs on Apple Silicon through a Wine-based wrapper integrated into the official macOS installer. The search results and vendor documentation confirm that the platform "supports all Apple processors, from M1 to the latest released versions." However, the underlying macOS application itself is still compiled for the Intel (x86) architecture and relies on Wine to function on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. While this arrangement works today under Rosetta 2, MetaQuotes has not yet released a native arm64 build of the application itself. To prepare for the macOS 28 removal of Rosetta 2 in September 2028, contact MetaQuotes directly via their support portal (support.metaquotes.net) to ask about plans for a true native Apple Silicon build. In the meantime, the current installer will continue to work on modern macOS versions and on Apple Silicon Macs, but a genuinely native compilation would offer better performance and full future compatibility. MetaQuotes is clearly still actively updating the platform, so a native build may be in development — checking in with them is the best way to stay informed of progress.
